 Adar Gandelsman is an Israeli model from Israel. She was Miss Israel 2017's runner up and was awarded the title Miss Universe Israel. Adar took part in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, but did not place. In the contest, Gandelsman took a picture with Sarah Idan, Miss Universe Iraq in the year. Idan and her entire family fled Iraq in December 2017 following the outrage of Iraqi citizens about her photo of Miss Israel. Miss Israel is originally from Ashkelon in Israel and was born to Ashkenazi Jewish parents, who moved to Israel in 1992 from Brazil.
