Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

Courtney Thorne-Smith (born November 8, 1967) is an American actress. Her credits include Alison Parker in Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, Cheryl In According to Jim, and Lyndsey McElroy's recurring role on Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers, and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapy therapist. Courtney was just seven years old when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. Jennifer is her older sister is an ad executive. She graduated in 1985 from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. In the high school, she performed with Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith was a part of her first film role in the 1986 film Lucas alongside Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. In the 1980s, she appeared in a variety of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She starred with Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, Chairman of the Board. In 2009, she appeared in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith has dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen love from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she tied the knot with Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple split in the month of January. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. Aged 40 she had her first child on January 11, 2008 to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
